While doing an interview about her new Alberta-shot film Die, My Love, Jennifer Lawrence reminisced about her time spent in Calgary.
During an interview with Etalk, Lawrence was asked, “You also shot in Calgary and all around Alberta. Do you have any memories that stand out?”
She reflected on all of the exploring she got to do with her son during their time in the city.
“I went to the zoo, I went to the science museum, that has this great outdoor, crazy slide, and the Saddledome was a big part of the conversation,” she said.
She also shared a sweet memory about a book her son received.
“Somebody had given my son a book called Goodnight Calgary, and every single night he would want me to read it, and it was like, ‘Goodnight Saddledome,’ and it was just the whole thing over and over again.”
Lawrence, along with fellow actor Robert Pattinson, was spotted filming the movie in Calgary last September, with one eagle-eyed Calgarian telling Daily Hive they were shooting at Vecova Recreation Centre, along with Sikome Lake. Filming began in late August 2024 and wrapped in mid-October of the same year.
“In a remote, forgotten rural area, a mother struggles to maintain her sanity as she battles with psychosis,” the film’s synopsis states.
The movie had its world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival back in May, and is scheduled to hit theatres on Nov. 7. The supporting cast includes Get Out actor LaKeith Stanfield, three-time Academy Award nominee Nick Nolte, and Academy Award winner Sissy Spacek.
