Fans of The Last of Us series on HBO might be excited to know that one of the show’s stars is returning to B.C as one of the main characters in a new film about cults.
Bella Ramsey, who plays Ellie in The Last of Us, will be starring alongside Lily James, Odessa Young, and Carrie Coon in a film called Harmonia. IMDb suggests that James will be playing Harmonia, the leader of a commune. Her character’s name on IMDb is “Leader.”
The film will be directed by Guy Nattiv, who won an Oscar for his short film Skin at the 91st Academy Awards, the year Green Book won the Oscar for best picture.

Creative BC states that the schedule for filming is between July 14 and Aug. 13, meaning that shooting could start as early as Monday. Where might you see Ramsey and her co-stars in the province? Likely not in Vancouver, and a casting call offers further hints.
Last month, Freeman Casting posted a casting call for female performers in Port Alberni. The dates line up perfectly with the Harmonia shoot. Considering that the film revolves around a female-led commune, the call for only female performers adds further credibility to the shoot taking place in Port Alberni. Other publications have also reported that the Port Alberni casting call was for Harmonia.
The film takes place in the 1980s, and the premise sounds dark, something Ramsey is probably used to by now, thanks to the grim tone of The Last of Us.
Instead of Ellie, Ramsey is now playing Ella and her sister, Jo, is played by Young.
“Rita (Carrie Coon) is entranced by the mesmeric leader and renounces her family to embrace the world of Harmonia commune. Her daughters, Ella and Jo, put everything on the line to visit their mom and bring their mother back home,” the IMDb synopsis states.
The film is slated for a 2026 release.
