The Netflix website, Netflix in Your Neighbourhood, has added five new Canadian locations to its website, and two of them are right here in Alberta.
Thanks to season two of the Netflix series My Life with the Walter Boys, Bragg Creek and High River are featured on the website, giving fans the chance to visit the show’s filming locations.
Netflix in Your Neighbourhood launched in 2021 to give fans the chance to explore the real Canadian locations behind their favourite movies and TV shows. Not only can fans see what locations were used for filming, but it also provides curated suggestions for local restaurants, places to stay, and iconic landmarks to visit.
In Alberta alone, Netflix shows like Black Summer, Our Living World, and Hold The Dark have all had scenes filmed here, taking advantage of everything from Calgary’s downtown to small towns and rural landscapes.
My Life with the Walter Boys showcased locations like Bragg Creek’s Rockies Tavern & Grill and multiple High River locations such as the rodeo grounds, Stix N Bones pool hall, and the Southfork Restaurant.
Other Alberta destinations already featured on the site include Calgary, Cochrane, the District of Greenview, and Kananaskis Country, showcasing how versatile the province is for on-screen storytelling.
With Alberta seeing more and more screen time, the province is steadily building its reputation as a key location in Canada’s film industry.
