It’s a great day to be a Camp Rock fan because the Jonas Brothers just officially confirmed that the third instalment of the beloved Disney movie franchise is in the works, and it’s filming right here in Metro Vancouver.
Earlier this week, we reported that the brothers were spotted on set at Barnet Marine Park in Burnaby, sparking heavy speculation that they were in town filming Camp Rock 3.
In fact, it was a little too obvious that the third movie was in production, because photos of the set were shared by curious fans who snapped images of a giant Camp Rock sign.
However, nothing was officially confirmed until today, and the Jonas Brothers took it upon themselves to share the good news via Instagram.

Joe, Nick, and Kevin can be seen sitting at a picnic table on set in the Metro Vancouver park, lip-syncing some classic Camp Rock lines from their characters, brothers Shane, Nate, and Jason Gray, also known as musical group Connect 3.
In a release, Disney confirmed that the third movie had officially been greenlit for Disney+ and Disney Channel.
“Joe, Nick and Kevin Jonas will return to their iconic roles. Demi Lovato and Joe, Nick and Kevin Jonas will executive produce the highly anticipated Disney Channel Original Movie,” noted Disney in a statement, confirming that filming began earlier this week in Vancouver.
Several new cast members will join the film, including Liamani Segura, Malachi Barton, and Brooklynn Pitts.
Disney also provided some further information about what’s in store for the Gray brothers in the third movie.
“The story picks up when Connect 3 lose their opening act for a major reunion tour, returning to their beloved Camp Rock to discover the next big thing,” said the network.
“As campers vie for the chance to open for their favourite band, tensions rise and friendships are tested, leading to unexpected alliances, revelations and romances.”
Aside from this filming project, the Jonas Brothers will also be performing at Rogers Arena this week for their Jonas20: Greetings from Your Hometown Tour.

One of the brothers also has their celebrity spouse joining them in town. Bollywood and Hollywood star Priyanka Chopra (who is also married to Nick Jonas) was recently dining at Sula on Davie Street, and the restaurant gave her a shoutout on Instagram.
