That darn Deadpool dude is up to good once again.
Hometown hero Ryan Reynolds is promising to help reduce systemic barriers by sharing his privilege of being a Hollywood star with those who are facing or have faced challenges entering screen and entertainment industries.
On September 24, Reynolds announced the Group Effort Initiative, a project that will recruit 10 to 20 people who are Indigenous, Black, or people of colour from marginalized or excluded communities of all ages.
Selected applicants will be part of the production team for Reynolds’ Untitled Netflix/Time Travel Project that’s slated to be shot in Vancouver this autumn.
Reynolds will be paying these trainees from his own salary (with travel and accommodations covered too) as they obtain on-set experience and receive instruction from industry professionals.
